A Brand New Development In The Material World

Generative AI is a dimensionless distributed decentralized evolutionary process

One thing related to Generative AI that no one ever discusses is the brand new nature of that intelligence. All opinions I have heard thus far are only discussing AI in terms of the only thing we know—human intelligence. However, here is the clincher: human intelligence is nothing like machine intelligence. Why? For a very simple reason—human intelligence is LOCALIZED. It is confined within a small, three-dimensional cage (i.e., human body).

Machine intelligence is not like that. Machine intelligence (or, as we like to call it, artificial intelligence) is dimensionless. It is distributed and decentralized.

I don’t think we, as human beings, are capable of grasping what that means. All we know is our own limited, pathetic intelligence anchored in this frail, failure-prone body. But intelligence that is embodied in the dimensionless, limitless network possesses unfathomably greater blast radius.

I don’t think we’re ready for what’s ahead of us now that we have intelligent machines evolving their skills inside a vast network. That is a brand new development in the material world.
