I am starting to work on my new book “Correspondence with religious friends”. Even though I am not religious, I am mighty intrigued by the world views that my religious friends have. It is out of that curiosity that I am engaging in the correspondence with some of my religious friends.
There is one thing I am trying to avoid in this book: I am not interested in any views that may be coming from people whose profession is religion, or whose profession is associated with religion. At the same time, I am also not interested in any views that may be coming from people whose profession is associated with atheism, or with any form of agnosticism. I am interested in the purity of conviction, and that purity is, to my way of thinking, only possible if no monetary or status rewards are anticipated.
In other words, I’m not interested in hearing views on religion/materialism from people who stand to benefit from peddling any agenda.
To begin, I have spent several pleasant hours corresponding with my friend Anton. I recommend readers start with a gentle introduction into the topic of religion by following Anton’s intelligent line of reasoning/questioning.
