Bots should do as many chores as their creators can enable them to do.
Bots should do as many chores as their creators can enable them to do. Bots exist to alleviate the drudgery of manual labour and free humans to pursue more interesting, more rewarding activities. Similar to how physical robots are built to replace humans when doing hard manual labour, bots must be built to replace humans when doing hard mental labour. Bots have the ability to memorize absolutely everything that their human masters ever did, plus they have the ability to pay undivided attention to everything humans do. Bot creators must take advantage of these superhuman capabilities and design bots to assist humans by offering expert services. I call those services chores because they require excellent memory and excellent, focused attention, something that frail humans typically don’t have. But bots have those qualities, and it is beneficial to use them. Once we get there, bots will be valued as indispensable, irreplaceable resources, same as physical bots are now valued as indispensable help in many manufacturing plants etc.
