I disagree with your statement “a couple of clicks in an app gets the job done”. Unless we’re talking an extremely simple, trivial use case, it always takes much, much more than a couple of clicks to get the job done. And we also need to count the mis-clicks. How many times have we taken the wrong turn trying to navigate hair-brained moronic GUI? With hundreds of links, tabs, scrolling up and down the endless pages, the frustration quickly mounts and we abandon the app in utter annoyance.
Bots dismiss with all of that. For example, if I want to set my alarm clock on my iPhone, I have to open the phone, swipe left-right until I see the clock app, open the app, try to find the alarm clock icon, tap on it, and then have ‘fun time’ messing around with the controls in the attempt to set the right wake up time. Wait, did I specify AM? Let me go back and double-check. Super frustrating.
Compare that experience with the experience I’m having when I use a bot. I simply say “Siri, wake me up tomorrow morning at 7:45”. Done!
