Talking to machines is a novelty. Same as talking on the phone while walking down the street or while in public transit was novelty 25 years ago. It takes time until novelty wears off and then what used to feel awkward starts feeling like second nature. If you’ve ever used Amazon Echo you’ll know what I’m talking about. Feels eery and awkward at first, and then gradually grows into a very cozy, familiar feeling. After a while you start asking yourself how was I ever able to function without asking my butler to do things for me?
“the person on the side of a phone conversation within earshot of others can adjust their responses accordingly. With voice control you have no such choice.”
I have no idea what you’re talking about here. Please elucidate.
If I can have a choice, I’ll always choose dictation over typing. Your mileage may vary. The nice thing is that we have a freedom to choose.
