This paradigm shift is based on the assumption that current state of user interface/user interaction will continue indefinitely into the future. That’s not the case, according to the observed trend. Similar to how desktop apps were pushed off the centre stage and got replaced by browser-based apps, and how browser-based apps are getting pushed by mobile apps, the current way mainstream population is interacting with machines will get pushed off the centre stage to be replaced by conversational interfaces. GUIs will get marginalized and delegated to more niche markets.
