Do You Know The Way To San Jose?

I always liked Burt Bacharach’s music. So elegant, so deceptively simple.

But man, it took me a while to figure out the chords for “San Jose”! A search on the web offered results that were… underwhelming. Some sites showed chords that sounded not quite right to my ears. So, in the end, I had to rely on my ears and tried to somehow fish those deceptively simple chords (which weren’t that simple after all).

So, basically, the song is in C, but it sneakily modulates halfway through the song to C#. Burt was very crafty, very sneaky with his harmonies.

Anyway, I recorded myself just so that I don’t forget those chords. Apologies for the half-assed singing; I was merely blowing through the song to make a quick off-the-cuff recording.
